Our Results

Stopping the Spread of the MLTT

We executed an award winning $1 million advertising and government relations campaign aimed at stopping the Government of Ontario from allowing municipalities to charge a municipal land transfer tax (MLTT). The campaign featured radio, billboard and social media advertising and anchored on engaging grassroots members in a call for action to contact their MPP. The result? In less than 60 days we generated over 50,000 emails to MPPs and the Minister rose in the House to announce they were backtracking on the policy.

Major Legislative Reform

We created an advocacy strategy on the need for a full legislative review of the Real Estate and Business Brokers Act. The strategy featured a series of policy white papers, earned media and direct outreach to decision makers to first raise the profile of the issue and then generate a case for reform. The result? The province brought forward the Trust in Real Estate Services Act, 2020 that was passed 91-0 – the only government bill that session to pass with all-party support and the first legislative reform for real estate in almost twenty years!
